Staff Achievements are the Focus of the MHS Annual Meeting.

MHS Trustees and staff members at Windows on the River.

The Annual Meeting of MHS, held at Windows on the River. The meeting is held "for the purpose of electing officers," and to "discuss and report on the business and affairs of the Corporation."

Meritorious Service
Lisa Bound, Kenneth Lipka, & Mandy Sharpley, for extraordinary coordination of care of a suicidal client of the Emerald Commons permanent housing program.

Regina Spicer, for her diligent work in launching a special initiative in which family members participate in the recovery groups of clients with substance-use disorders.

Sherrie White & Dan Videc, for their persistent and compassionate work to help a 68-year-old client facing imminent eviction to remain in housing and responsibly manage his income.

Danette Nagle, for building trusting therapeutic relationships with her clients, while consistently meeting productivity and documentation standards.

Stephanie Sporn, for her unfailing competence and care with individuals calling the Mobile Crisis Team hotline, and for taking the initiative after a crisis outreach to obtain and deliver food to a client and her elderly mother.

Jennifer Phillips, for her extraordinary teamwork, commitment to client care, time management, and eager implementation of evidence-based interventions in her work at the Kingsway Manor permanent housing program.

Pamela Sue Kucklick, for her resourceful and relentless work to help a client reunite with her children. In the end, the client reunited with a son who had just been graduated from college, and her other son who had recently become a father. Both sons and the new grandchild visited the client at the MHS Safe Haven program.

Romeo DeMeo, for his creative and compassionate interventions to help a client threatening suicide with a straight razor.

MHS held its Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees on the evening of 24 October 2007.

The meeting was held at Windows on the River, with dramatic views of downtown Cleveland and the Cuyahoga River.

Julie Rittenhouse, Trustee and Past President, and Steven M. Friedman, Ph.D., Executive Director, announced that the extraordinary work of staff members was to be the focus of the meeting. Following the re-election of current Board officers, they presented Meritorious Service awards to 12 staff members, whose names and achievements are presented at left.

Sixteen others were presented with five- and ten-year service awards. Photographs of some of the recipients are presented below.
